More Than Just a Live Show
On May 2nd, 2025, the walls of Club Zentral Stuttgart shook with the energy of FIND MY SPIRIT, a local modern metalcore band known for their heavy riffs and emotionally charged vocals. But this wasn’t just another show to them, it was the premiere of a long-planned visual upgrade we’ve been quietly crafting for over a year.
As the person responsible for the LED display show and my first experience with Live Show Production, I had the chance to bring a whole new visual identity to the band’s live experience. From designing the animations to syncing them live alongside the drummer, this was more than just a technical task.
Built to Adapt
One of the biggest challenges was adapting the visuals for typical mid-sized venue stages. In the case of FIND MY SPIRIT, most venues they perform in have a raised drum platform, which makes placing a large LED wall behind the drummer nearly impossible.
So we break the visuals into three independent yet synchronized screens. With the distance between the back screen and the two front screens, we were able to adapt an immersive 3D effect. This allowed us to maintain a dynamic and immersive stage design that still works within tight space limitations. The effects are flexible: whether stretched across a single widescreen or split into panels, they remain energetic and visually coherent.
The content itself pulls inspiration directly from the band’s singles and album concepts. Having worked closely with lead singer Thomas Marty on the creative side, the visual development felt more like a therapy session than a job. It was fun, intuitive, and deeply tied to the emotional message of each song.

Syncing Image with Sound
Creating the LED show was only half the battle but the real test was live synchronization. All visuals were pre-rendered, carefully cued, and triggered in real time alongside the drummer. This meant a lot of rehearsal time, back-and-forth adjustments, and obsessive fine-tuning.
While the final concert may be what the public remembers, the real magic happened during rehearsals. These sessions turned into something special for everyone involved as we look at our hard work and concept to be proven effectively. We were creating a shared experience that elevated the performance to a whole new level.

Not Loosing Momentum
As the performance video is getting ready for release, I’ve had a moment to look back on the journey. On all the delays, revisions, and technical headaches that almost derailed the vision. But none of it stopped us. On May 2nd, we delivered a premiere we’re proud of.
This side project may have started from a dream and a lot of booze but turned into a milestone for all of us. There’s still so much to improve and refine in order to keep pushing the limits of local concert production and we are still hungry to do so as we keep raising the bar for what local shows can be.
If you haven’t already, go support my friends at FIND MY SPIRIT and their latest single Crushing You on all Platforms. They’ve poured everything into their sound—just like we’ve poured everything into the visuals.
